DITALS Course preparation

The course, which is monitored by the University for Foreigners of Siena, is aimed at aspiring teachers of Italian as a second language and Italian as a Foreign Language (L2/LS). It consists of a series of modules that are intended to provide a solid theoretical and practical basis not only for the exam Ditals (levels I and II) but also for classroom practice.

Schedule and duration

Modules, the total duration of 30 hours divided in 2 weekends+1 Saturday, from 10am to 5pm (1 hour lunch break), will be divided into:

Theoretical aspects: the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; approaches, methods and models, teaching techniques for language learning, the analysis of learning materials, construction of the teaching, Intercultural, teaching in mixed classes , group dynamics, language teaching techniques and strategies in relation to the type of recipients, the role of the teacher, the management  of the body in the classroom’s space.

Practical aspects: (guided exercises / simulations) overview and analysis of teaching materials; Didactics of the text, design and creation of educational materials, laboratory body.

Prerequisites for access to DITALS II course

To access the Training Course DITALS II it is necessary to possess a Bachelor degree. For non-native speakers of Italian it is also required to have knowledge of the Italian language at level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Cost: 850€ + 60hrs of teaching or 60hrs of internship (free of charge).

The course is recognised by the University for Foreigners of Siena; the School is DITALS Test Center.
